Three weeks off, then back at my desk like nothing happened. Everyone was kind for two days and then it was business as usual. If you've been through it, what actually helped that first month?

Ask for one quiet task for the first week. I tried to prove I was fine and paid for it for a month.

Tell one trusted colleague what you need. Mine would just say "coffee?" when I'd gone pale, no questions.
